DevConf.CZ 2020 Brno

Estimated reading time: 2 mins

DevConf.CZ 2020 was really great! Three days (one and a half for us) full of interesting content and people!

Day one

Together with one of my colleagues we drove all the way up from the south of Austria to Brno with a 2 hour break in Vienna because we had a meeting at the Google branch office. Afterwards wie drove straight up to Brno and arrived there at around 15:30. After we checked in at our Hotel, we went to the conference location and checked in there too. This all takes some time and therefore we were only able to join one session.

Day two.

This day was fully packet for us with sessions! These were mine:

Keynote: Solving the problems of AI in production

A interesting talk about the challenges with AI in production. What can go wrong and were are the issues. Mainly the talk was about the challenge which you can face with large data pipelines.

Podman, Buildah, Skopeo, and CRI-O A Year Later

This one was a nice feature update about the mentioned projects. Some really interesting insights, overall nothing really new but nice things to come.

Tools to optimise the human factor!

Another great talk about social skills and how to avoid burn out!

Diversity in OpenSource … show me the data!

Awesome! A great talk about Women in Open Source. The statistics were really impressive but also a little bit sad. It is terrible to hear that women still have to fake their online profiles to have it easier while contributing code! We have to work on this!

Grow your career with Continuous Improvement

Another highlight about how you can find your way about what you can do with the time on your hands!

Day three

Riding back 6 hours!

Summary

I will be there next year too! Still an awesome conference!
